We ran for something bigger than a finish line. We ran for hashtag#Awareness. We ran for hashtag#inclusion. We ran for the children.
At the hashtag#AutismAwarenessRun hosted at Acres of Fun Preschool in Muyenga, our hearts were full as we witnessed a community come together in powerful solidarity for children on the hashtag#Autismspectrum. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible organizers Joe Kigozi Academy and Hillary Baguma for bringing this vision to life.
At Tunaweza Children’s Centre, advocacy isn’t new to us, it’s the core of who we are.
For years, under the leadership of our founder Pamela Tiiti and co-founder Sheila Sabune, we’ve worked tirelessly to create safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for children with special needs, especially those with hashtag#Autism.
We don’t just support children. We equip them. We believe in more than care, we believe in capability. Through Art therapy, Aqua therapy, Music therapy, vocational programs and tailored therapy programs (Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Needs Education), we’re building confidence, life skills, and brighter futures.
As our next step after this impactful run, we’re offering hashtag#FREE developmental assessments throughout the month of April, because early support changes lives.

Let’s keep the momentum going. Let’s continue building a world where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated.
